PREACH THE WORD
Be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. ~ 2 Timothy 4:2
To see a unified Church full of believers who are passionate about Jesus Christ and his Word.
We want to see a Church that comes together and stands as one regardless of the denominational name on their wall.
We want to see a Church that is filled with the same manifestations of Holy Ghost Power that was spoken of in Acts 17:6
These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;
To get the message of the Gospel into the hands and hearts of as many people as we can.
To bring people from all denominations, demographics and cultures to a unified fellowship in Jesus Christ and His Word.
To preach an uncorrupted and simple truth based on the Bible and the teachings found in the Old Testament, Gospels and New Testament.
To see salvation come to those who are currently separated from Jesus Christ and His Body.
Who WE are
Sow The Word officially began in 2020… however it started long before then.
I was preaching a sermon in Melton Victoria during the summer of 2010. It was 42 Degrees outside and more than that inside the building where there were about 100 believers gathered.
Half way through the message I caught sight of an elderly man who’s eyes began to roll back in his head as he slumped in his chair.
“Someone help!” cried the lady next to him. A guest that he had brought along with him that day. A ‘fish’ as he called them.
The chapel was cleared and he was laid on the floor at the front to get cooler in front of the airconditioners that were trying to keep up.
His eyes opened, his hand raised and he looked me straight in the eye…
“Never Stop Preaching!” was all he said before he closed his eyes again
Daniel Lyne – Founder of Sow The Word
For the past 10 Years since that day, we have been in many Churches around Australia. Some just visiting, others for a season… But building relationships and connections with believers in many denominations and cultures.
One thing we have learned from this experience is that every church is practically the same!
The names on the front door might be different…
The band (Or lack of one) may sing different songs…
However things are mainly the same!
There are Christians in every Church
There are Non-Christians in every Church
There are people full of LOVE in every Church
There are religious ‘traditions’ in every Church
There are cultures and ‘sub-cultures’ in every Church
There are people who think their ‘denomination’ or ‘Church’ is the ONLY right one!
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints,
with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
We Are Christian.
The last thing that Australia, or the world needs is another denomination…
We knew that we were called to preach the Word.
And we knew that we wanted to reach more than just a local area, or denomination.
It was our vision to have a ministry that crossed boundaries that Churches couldn’t. We desired to have a ministry that was not locked into a ‘tradition’ of man that would only allow it to operate within the confines of a certain denomination.
We are Christian!
One of the most common questions I get asked is ‘What are you?
‘I am a CHRISTIAN’ I respond.
‘Yeah, but what kind. I mean, what church do you go to…’
The problem with our world is that they don’t know God. We all understand and would agree with that, but there is something deeper that comes from that. The only ‘expression’ of God they have is the Church.
So it’s understandable that they don’t have a good picture of who God is. Because to them, he is a disfunctional, scattered, confused, powerless and gossip driven being. At least that is who they picture him as by the fact we call ourselves ‘followers’ of him…
HOW TO CHANGE THE WORLD
The only way we can change the world, is to change the image that it has of the Church, and God!
It’s time for the Church to understand it’s IDENTITY and MISSION!
Until we know who we are in Christ, we will forever be powerless, and disjointed from each other and confused about our IDENTITY.
Until we know who we are in Christ, we will not have any impact on those around us, and thus be unable to fulfil our MISSION
PASSIONATE ABOUT THE WORD OF LIFE
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go?
Thou hast the words of eternal life. ~ John 6:68
We don’t doubt that people are genuine, and desire to honour God through their passion and commitment to the Local Church.
We recognise that there is simply a misunderstanding that stems from a lack of knowledge about what the Word states, and people end up holding onto doctrines based on Tradition, NOT on the simple Truth of the Gospel.
Our vision and mission is to help people find the TRUTH contained in the Bible, and to lay aside their traditions, doctrines and pre-conceived ideas long enough to allow the Holy Spirit to speak into their hearts, and open their spiritual eyes.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
1 John 2:27
When we open the Word, and allow the Spirit of God to teach us, He is faithful to reveal the TRUTH to us.
Our prayer is that we can communicate the Gospel message simply, and clearly so that you can receive an understanding that doesn’t rely on complicated doctrines and ‘rabbit trails’ to hold it together. Rather, you will be able to follow along and realise that it truly is that simple…
Our prayer is that you will put aside any traditions and cultural opinions, and pray that the Spirit will reveal the TRUTH to you through the Bible, and open your eyes to HIS Gospel.
THEN, you will truly see the power that Christ referred to when He said…
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
